|活動目的:||Hong Kong Association of the DEAF proposes this project. In general, this project aims to help Deaf and Hard-of-hearing children who have a range of additional supporting needs. Specifically, it aims to help Deaf and Hard-of-hearing children to improve speech, voice, language and communication abilities through aural rehabilitation and speck therapy. In other words, the target is to provide communication/speech abilities assessment, speech therapy and aural rehabilitation program to enable Deaf and Hard-of-hearing children to make the best use of their auditory ability, enhance articulation, voice and language, so that they can communicate effectively by verbal.
Nowadays, what is worrying is that the hearing loss of Deaf and Hard-of-hearing children has directly influenced their speech development. On the other hand, the society neglect the special study needs of Deaf and Hard-of-hearing Children. What’s worse, the lack of speech supporting service affects their academics attainment. Therefore, our EDFA support the project to help the parents of those children to join the speech therapy service, which may improve their life in future.
